Expert ATM Maintenance Services
Keeping your ATM running well doesn’t take much — but it does take consistency. A clean card reader, a dust-free dispenser, fresh receipt paper, and a quick check on the cassettes go a long way toward avoiding the kind of problems that take a machine offline and cost you money.
ATM Money Machine has been maintaining and supporting ATMs since 1997, with technicians available nationwide in all 50 states. Whether you need someone to walk you through a fix over the phone, a technician at your location, or a replacement part shipped fast, we handle it. We support machines from Genmega, Hyosung, and Triton — the same brands we sell — so we know these machines inside and out.
What Our ATM Maintenance Services Include
Our ATM maintenance program covers everything your machine needs to stay operational and compliant. We offer a full range of preventive and responsive services tailored to your schedule and business needs.
Phone and Video Walk-Through Support
Most ATM issues aren’t hardware failures — they’re connectivity glitches, paper jams, or simple errors that can be fixed in minutes with the right guidance. Our team is available by phone to walk you through it step by step in real time. For issues that are easier to show than describe, we can do it over a video call. This is the fastest, cheapest way to get your machine back online, and it resolves the majority of problems without a service visit.
On-Site Technician Visits
When a problem cannot be resolved remotely, we dispatch a certified technician directly to your location. Our nationwide technician network means we can reach most locations quickly, minimizing the time your machine is out of service. On-site visits cover everything from dispenser repairs and mainboard diagnostics to card reader replacements, printer replacements, and other hardware issues.
New and Used ATM Parts
We keep a wide inventory of replacement parts in stock for Genmega, Hyosung, and Triton machines — card readers, receipt printers, keypads, power supplies, and more. We carry both new and used parts. If you’re not sure what you need, contact us and describe the problem — we’ll identify the right part and get it to you.
Lifetime Warranty Option
For maximum peace of mind, we offer a lifetime warranty option on new ATM machines purchased from us. This coverage extends to parts and labor for qualifying repairs, giving you long-term protection against unexpected maintenance costs.
First-Line and Second-Line ATM Maintenance Explained
ATM maintenance is typically divided into two categories: first-line and second-line. Understanding the difference helps you know what you can handle yourself and when to call in a technician.
First-Line Maintenance
First-line maintenance is what you, the ATM owner, handle yourself: restocking cash, replacing receipt paper, cleaning the card reader and screen, clearing simple paper jams, and performing basic resets. This is the routine work that keeps the machine running day to day — it’s simple, it’s quick, and it doesn’t require a technician.
Second-Line Maintenance
Second-line maintenance is what our team handles: diagnosing and repairing mechanical failures, replacing internal components like dispensers or mainboards, performing software and firmware updates, and resolving hardware faults that go beyond a simple reset or cleaning. Depending on the issue, we can walk you through it over the phone or a video call, or we dispatch an experienced technician to your location for hands-on work.
Preventive ATM Maintenance — What It Actually Involves
Preventive maintenance sounds more involved than it is. Most of it is simple, routine upkeep that you or your staff can handle — and it makes a real difference in how long your machine lasts and how reliably it runs.
Clean the Screen – The screen is the part of the machine your customers touch and look at every transaction. Keep it clean with a soft, damp cloth. For touchscreens, use an antiseptic wipe to keep it sanitary and free of fingerprint buildup — a grimy screen makes the whole machine look neglected.
Clean the Card Reader – The card reader picks up magnetic stripe particles, dust, skin oils, and debris over time. Left alone, that leads to misreads and card jams — both of which frustrate customers and can take the machine out of service. Run a wet cleaning swab through the card reader on a regular basis to keep it clear.
Clean the Cash Dispenser – Dust, lint, and paper particles build up inside the dispenser faster than you’d expect. A can of compressed air clears it out. Some operators also lubricate the rollers — check with us or your manufacturer for a recommendation on what to use. A clean dispenser means fewer jams and fewer service calls.
Check the Cassettes and Bill Path – Open the cassettes periodically and inspect the transport belts, gears, and bill path for wear, debris, or anything that looks off. Catching a worn belt or a piece of debris early prevents a jam or a miscount later.
Replace Receipt Paper Before It Runs Out – Don’t wait for the “out of paper” error. Keep spare rolls on hand and swap them proactively. While you’re at it, clear any paper dust from the printer module — that buildup is what causes printhead failures over time.

Why Regular ATM Machine Maintenance Matters
Skipping or delaying ATM maintenance is a costly mistake. Regular service is one of the most important investments you can make in the long-term profitability of your ATM operation.
Maximize ATM Uptime and Availability
Every hour your ATM is down is revenue you don’t get back. Routine upkeep — even just the simple cleaning tasks above — catches issues before they become full failures. A machine that stays online stays profitable.
Extend the Life of Your Machine
An ATM is a real investment , and proper maintenance can add years to the operational life of your equipment. Routine cleaning, lubrication, and component checks prevent premature wear and reduce the likelihood of costly breakdowns that could shorten your machine’s lifespan.
Stay Compliant with Security and Software Updates
The ATM industry is subject to ongoing security and compliance requirements, including PCI DSS standards and EMV chip-card mandates. Regular maintenance ensures your machine stays current with the latest software and security patches.
Reduce Long-Term Repair Costs
Wiping down the card reader and blowing dust out of the dispenser costs you nothing but a few minutes. An emergency dispenser replacement after months of buildup costs a lot more. Basic upkeep is always cheaper than a repair call.
